The fondest memories are made when gathered around the dinner table. Kebab Gali took me back to my childhood days where I would enjoy pure desi ghee style food with spicy flavor in a casual dine restaurant. Kebab gal, situated amidst of hustle of Malvina Nagar corner market. The restaurant is very casual dine in where you could just walk with your chappals on. The place is bit small, can accommodate up to 15 – 20 people. With lamps stand, miniature cycle, colorful lamps peep up the interior of the place. To seal the deal, they serve Muglia and north Indian food without burning hole in your pocket. The place also gives options with portion keeping in mind served for 2, 4 or 6.
Without a second thought first thing, we ordered from the menu was Dahi Kebab, They were soft, mouth melting, creamy texture, not crispy from outside like another dahi kebab that I have tasted before. Paneer Tikka was grilled well and marinated with perfect spices. Green chutney with mint complemented perfectly. I am not a fan of Soya, and very selective when it comes to chaap. Surprisingly this one was grilled perfectly, it was juicy, not chewy and mild flavored.
Our taste birds were soaked in the rich thick creamy Dal Makhani. The taste was delicious, topped with a whole lot ghee (I am not complaining about extra ghee though). Paneer Pasanda made me remember our road trip to Punjab. The gravy made from tomato, onion, curd and cream. The spices used stood out making it flavorful. The same gravy was used in the preparation of mix vegetable also. Almost giving same taste except there are vegetables involve.Do indulge yourself in their Dum Biryani , served in an earthen pot sealed with kneaded dough and covered with traditional red cloth. The spices used in Biryani stood out with aromas and distinctly tasting cardamom, ginger, garlic, coriander made the dish really delicious.
Assorted bread basket consisted of Aloo kulcha and Family Naan. Aloo Kulcha was stuffed with a mix of boiled potatoes, put in a tandoor till perfection and nicely greased with butter. Family Naan is big naan having 6 pieces of tandoori kulcha.Without desserts, a meal is incomplete. Isn’t it? Without much delay , my clear choice Gulab Jamun ; round , soft sweet balls that instantly melt in your mouth , they were exactly same with little more sweetness to it.
