Did you read right? Hell yeah! This is what we all have been waiting for; Shop while you Dine Or Dine while you Shop ( Doesn’t matter as long as shopping and food come in the same line). Too Indian is a revolution in food and nightlife which has married food and retail in an innovative concept. Too Indian is a pure magic and we can’t get enough of it.
Love At First Sight!
Well, I am just rehearsing what a food legendary already quoted. Too Indian is a (Re) fresh sapling growing in the market of Rajouri Garden. What makes it stand apart is the comfort feeling you get/feel in the place. The outer area is beautifully done with coloured pots and wood which gives you an earthy feel and make you feel welcomed. The place is classy and chic. You will fall in love with the colour of wall paint and furniture complementing it so well. The seating is done smartly offering a comfortable sofa, to laid back chair to high chairs. There is an entire wall dedicated to the retail section where they sell all the cool stuff. Can’t help myself noticing those beautiful plant encasing lights on the bar.
Being a Modern Indian café?
Too Indian is a Modern-age Indian café serving progressive Indian cuisine and breaking the monotony that north Indian food is mainly kebabs and curries in a big bowl. I like the fact this place reflects modern age India and not connect north Indian food being served in a fine dining place. It’s been a cliché now. The place has cheerful vibes with in-house DJ and magician. Each plate that comes out of kitchen looks like a piece of art.
Thing That We Never Bought
Too Indian has an intriguing concept of retail, where products from home chefs, commercials chefs are on sale that has never been on sale before. Cookies like rose and fennel, besan naan khatai and red velvet cookies which directly comes from home bakers. Different varieties of salt and sugar. And Whiskey jam, they got me there.Hand made clay pots and utensils.
Nutella FreakShake, a delightful version of milkshakes that literally come straight out of the chocolate factory. They are over the top and absolutely Instagram-worthy!
You will be welcomed by a secret garden having miniature water can with Mango Sorbet Popsicles, a reminisce about childhood. For starters, you might need to uptight yourself because there is a team of artists working in the kitchen to amaze you with each platter that comes on the table. One word that fits is; Artisinal.
Is this Dahi Bhalla? ( Question I asked server after seeing the dish) Well yes, it is a 21st-century Dahi Bhalla where typical Bhalla was replaced by savoury rasgulla and topped with blueberry, strawberry and plain yoghurt. And there is baked Misthi Dahi on a bed of green mint chutney.
Here is something to taco about, is a desi taco version of Too Indian, which is filled with paneer tikka and a final touch of feta cheese. You will find lot “awe-inspiring elements” in each dish like kebabs coming in a book and a tiny study lamp watching over each kebab piece done with perfection. Amritsari fish comes in a painter’s canvas, inspiring hidden artist inside you.
In the menu, you can find Kathal Quinio Biryani and Top trending Quinio salad is for all the calorie caution people. The chef’s at Too Indian has embraced few traditional recipes in the menu like Nalli Nihari or home style chicken curry or a typical dal makhani. But innovation comes in Dal-Nawabi, where yellow dal comes as a Khao – Suey Platter. Another not to be missed dish is Palak Paneer Ravioli.
Sweet Endings is Happy Ending
Your stomach might be full but desserts always have a special place. And especially when you see Delhi-6 winter delight Daulat ki Chaat in the menu. A frothy, foamy treat which is so light that it resembles a cloud. It’s a long process – one that needs to be appreciated for its complexity and beauty.
