All of us love to travel, take a break, relax , be pampered and may be transported to a blissed out space for a while. Weekends are like charging days for me that keeps me alive for coming weekdays, a story we all can relate too. There are times I want a getaway far from Delhi, yet reluctant in driving for hours. Located in Faridabad district of Haryana, Mangar is just 50kms from Delhi and celebrated as one of the last remaining patches of natural forests in the region of Haryana.
The hills are called as Aravallis, one of the oldest plateau ranges in the world. The valley has historic significance. The Lalit Mangar will be a boon for many weekend tripper, and anyone who is looking for secluded and undisturbed time with nature and themselves. The Lalit team was kind enough to host us for a day and here is our take on it.
The Lalit Magar is one and a half hour drive from Delhi. We left early in the morning, so we could enjoy our breakfast in calm. You can take the help of navigation to reach the destination.Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the staff and welcome drinks were served .The lobby is done in minimalist and looks elegant and spacious.
Among locals, the resort is also known as Art & Craft Resort and the rammed earth architecture testify for it.The resort is built from the same rocks that were extracted for building it, which gives a unique texture, colour shade and pattern to each wall and blends well in surrounding. The walls are thick and insulated and thus remain cool in summer and warm in winter.
The Lalit Magar offers 34 opulent Suites all with spectacular views of the valley. The rustic, yet modern private spacious rooms with all amenities are idyllic for a weekend refuel. The interiors of the room are done in wood looking simple yet charming . The minute details that were taken care of are commendable, an addressed letter was kept on the desk to give out basic information. The linen was crisp and white, housekeeping staff kept a note with deer soft toy. The back panel of bed was done with Jaipur style patchwork.
The Balcony had a picturesque breathtaking view. The refreshment counter with mini fridge, tea & coffee maker with few packets of nuts, biscuits, fruits which were on the house for guest without any charges. The hospitality staff made sure to treat us like royals, during the entire day chocolates made from honey and a truffle cake was sent to our room.

There is a small cart with freshly prepared tea and all treats we use to find at those local tea shop.
In the late evening, loose yourself to the lilting sound of flute under a star embedded sky that looks so captivating. There is a live performance by some talented Indian musicians which was like an antidote for me. Later, we were enthralled with the rare sight of star-studded sky, a rare sight in Delhi. You can engage yourself in star gazing and find your sun sign. A beautiful quaint evening ended with the dinner. Next day, we were all set to leave for Delhi, this one day get away was a real kick start for the coming weekdays.
